India has one of the world's fastest-growing electronic consumer markets. As a result, India has a high level of e-waste generated when these products are no longer used. Recognising the toxic and hazardous effects of e-waste management failure on the environment, the Government of India enacted the E-Waste Management Rules, 2016, which included an Extended Producer Responsibility provision. These guidelines define the products that must be recycled when they reach the end of their useful life. The guidelines intend to ensure that every stakeholder involved in the mass generation of e-waste takes steps to ensure its safe disposal. With the help of these regulations, we aim to establish a system whereby a product that has outlived its usefulness is returned to the manufacturer and recycled by licenced recyclers. Although creating such a system is the intended outcome, producers and manufacturers of electronic goods face implementation challenges because of the rate at which e-waste is produced and the requirement for additional infrastructure for its collection and recycling. EZ Waste Recycling is one of the first organisations to offer Producer Responsibility Organisation (PRO) services to assist producers in meeting their EPR guidelines. In doing so, we aim to ensure that e-waste producers can ensure that waste products from their customers are collected and delivered to our facility for responsible recycling and disposal. To make things even easier, we provide the producer with the necessary recycling certification as well as a set of compliance documents that adhere to government standards and guidelines.
